Laszlo Bartos Obituary

Laszlo Bartos, 67, loving husband and best friend for over 37 years of Deborah Ann (Bartku) Bartos, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Laszlo was born on November 23, 1955, in Komlo, Hungary, one of six loving children of the late Estvan Bartos and Hortenzia (Talasz) Karolyi of Toms River, NJ. He was raised in New Jersey and was a graduate of Cliffside Park High School. Prior to his retirement in 2021, Laszlo had been employed as a Warehouse Manager for the Red Thread Company, Technology Division, in East Hartford. Laszlo was a former Assistant Scout Master for Troop 2020 in Vernon when his oldest son was in the Boy Scouts. When his sons were younger, he proudly beamed from the sidelines as a recreational soccer and basketball coach. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and all-around outdoorsman. As a rock music lover, he played guitar and was a big AC/DC fan. He was a devoted Las Vegas Raiders fan and was captivated by the History Channel, namely Ancient Aliens, American Pickers, and Pawn Stars. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family and friends. Laszlo was a kind and wonderful soul. He will be deeply missed by all that were lucky enough to know him. In addition to his wife and mother, Laszlo leaves his two beloved sons, Christopher M. Bartos and Nicholas S. Bartos, both of Vernon, and two loved and cherished grandsons, Colton Richard Bartos and Trevor Laszlo Bartos, also of Vernon. Laszlo also leaves his four siblings: Violet Lugo and her husband Ralph of Hopatcong, NJ; Donna Barritta and her husband Johnny of Toms River, NJ; Zolton Bartos of Toms River, NJ; and Tony Bartos and his wife Patty, also of Toms River, NJ, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families and his extended family and friends who he adored and treasured. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his sister Kathy Riccardi and his stepfather Bela Karolyi. The family of Laszlo would like to thank his care team at St. Francis Hospital for their compassion and care of Laszlo through his journey with cancer. Also, thanks to the Visiting Nurse & Health Service of CT for their exemplary Hospice care. Calling hours will be at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road in Vernon on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 4-7 pm with a service to begin at 6:30 pm. Lotsy was always so kind and caring and would quietly do things out of the goodness of his heart without seeking any sort of praise. I remember when I had a housewarming party, I didn´t have any speakers to play music from, I was just using my laptop, which was terrible. And without saying anything or any prompting Lotsy had later gotten me speakers from his work. It was totally unexpected but such a nice surprise as he truly paid attention and did whatever he could for those he loved and cared about. I also remember how much he loved his dogs especially the boxer Chopper even when I was little, I could see the bond they had and what a loving and caring person he was. He will be sincerely missed, and the holidays will not be the same without him. But I know his presence will live on in all those that he loved especially his wife, children and grandchildren.
