Lawrence Friedman Obituary

Larry Friedman has died in Pompano, FL, after a lengthy period of declining health. Born in Hartford to the late Ruth (Winograd) and Harold Friedman, Larry moved in 1964 with his parents to Miami Beach, FL. There they owned the New Surf 88 Motel and Apartments, a popular spot for West Hartford snowbirds. Larry then went on to become a popular and respected jeweler and antiques dealer at Lawrence & Co, at the Festival Mall in Pompano. Larry was a bon vivant and enthusiast; he loved good restaurants, great steaks, red wine, movies, and antiques, all of which he generously shared with family and friends. A vociferous opponent of Trump, Larry had hoped to live long enough to see him defeated.Larry is mourned by his sister Donna; his beloved aunt and uncle Fran and Ed Friedman of West Hartford; his Friedman first cousins Karen, Bruce, Mitch, Ken, and Leslie; and his Winograd cousins Stu, Wendy, and Sue. Larry was an original; we will sorely miss him.
