Dear Hollicks and extended family of Mike,
We are all so very sorry for the sudden passing of Michael.
I am very blessed to have been able to grow up in Windsor, and my next-door neighbor, "Mikey", is so much a part of those memories... sliding down the back hill, building snow forts, building a lean-too in the woods, playing "tackle" for hours on the front lawns, day long games of Monopoly, and Kerplunk; swimming and diving in the pool every day of the summer until we were all absolutely exhausted and pruney, and of course at least 1000 innings of Whiffle ball in the back yards--each of which was "bottom of the ninth, Yankees versus Red Sox", and each pitch was "bases loaded, full count." Thanks to Mikey, I've always believed that the official dividing line between "Red Sox nation" (represented by Mikey) and "the evil empire (Yankees, and my big brother, Paul)" ran right down the line between the blue house and the pink house on Mountain Road.
I will always hold dear my many memories of Mikey. He was a great friend. And I am crushed by this loss. Our prayers are with you all. I thank God for Mikey.
Sincerely,
Philip Austin ("Flip" from next door)

To such a dear and treasured friend. Always there with a big hug and smile that wiped away any upsets and worries. The kindness shared and long talks about dreams of travel to exotic places or being picked on for wearing my New York Yankee sweatshirt with my red sox slippers as we shared a beer on my porch. I was always at ease and happy with you around. It was you I always turned to for advice with matters of the heart and for general life advice. We only became friends a few years ago but it always felt like I knew you. I will always cherish our time spent together and the words we exchanged. I will love you always.
