Monica White Obituary
Monica M. White, 52, of South Windsor, beloved wife of James White, died at home with her family by her side on June 7, 2017. Monica was born in Manchester to Glenn Merrer and the late Rosemarie (Giel) Merrer on October 25, 1964. She grew up in East Hartford graduated from EHHS with the class of 1982. In December of 1991 married James White and shortly after moved to South Windsor where they would raise their family. Monica was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and trips to the beach. Her musical tastes ranged from Bon Jovi and Elvis to various style of Christian music. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and daughter who will be missed by everyone who knew her. Along with her husband James, and her father Glenn, Monica is survived by her son Andrew White; daughter Lindsey White; brothers Donald Merrer and his wife Debbie of East Hartford, Tom Merrer and his wife Vikki of Arizona, John Merrer and his wife Genie of Florida; sister Ilona Henschel of Germany; father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Elizabeth White of Manchester; brother-in-law Robert White and his wife Sarah of Boston; sister-in-law Suzanne Peters and her husband James of Vernon; as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial is being held directly at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Road, South Windsor, CT at 10 am on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Manchester. Calling hours are being held at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, on Tuesday, June 13, from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Monica's memory can be made to American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St - I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067. We are deeply sorry to hear of your sad loss. I always smile when i think about the brownies Monica made for me, I can't remember what for, but will always remember how bad they were! Who would have known that you can't make brownies with olive oil instead of vegetable oil. Please don't think twice about reaching out to us. We will be always happy to help. Jim, Andrew, and Lindsey, I wanted to write something, but I simply have no words. ( I know, hard to believe coming from me...the talker ) When you feel like crying, and I know you will, try to remember laughter. When you are feeling sad, try to remember to smile. When you are feeling lonely,try to remember all the times you shared. So many different emotions go along with grieving, and you are entitled to those. I really did not know Monica , however I have only heard wonderful things about her children. How nice and kind they are. That says a lot about what a wonderful parent she was.
