Dear Margaret a/k/a Peggy -- Barbara and I were there for your birthday when "Nick" just happened to show up in town and dropped by that first time - an surprise visit - to wish you a happy birthday. Nick was the kind of a man who pursued while pretending -- as you insisted -- that you were only 'golfing friends who met in Florida.' Barbara and I could see through that. I was there a few months later when Nick, Lloyd, you and I rode off to Long Island together to surprise Barbara for her 60th birthday, and I snapped that first picture of you two 'as a couple.'

I was there at your beautiful wedding -- and other visits too numerous to count. You and Nick had so many happy times together. Even years after your marriage, when I would call and Nick answered the phone, he always talked about you and how much he loved you. Nick was so loving and protective of you, and my dear friend, you reciprocated his love and ALWAYS treated Nick as the gift he was in your life. Maybe because I am in a second marriage late in life - I KNOW the gratitude and joy of finding someone to share life together with again. I remember that Nick wanted to buy you a larger home but, instead, you welcomed him into your fully-paid condo. It speaks volumes about how you loved Nick. You loved him unconditionally and showered him with the love, affection and gifts galore, He was always laughing, teasing and loving you. How lucky you are to have so many lovely memories you created together.

It was heartbreaking to learn of Nick's illness. It was very sad and I know how many tears you shed. Nick's illness and now his leaving is really sad, but I know you will always treasure those precious memories of your happiness together. I am glad I knew him, too, and that you shared him with us. Nick was the kind of guy who was appreciative and loving. He will be sorely missed.

With prayers and deepest condolences.
Love Terry and Lloyd

Crossing the Bar

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.

My deepest sympathies are extended to the family of Nick Migliaccio. I graduated from Long Branch High School with Nick and remember him as being a fun classmate. He was always quick to smile or laugh and that always brightened my day.
