Raymond Deshaies Obituary

Raymond (Ray) E. Deshaies, 67, passed away on August 2, 2021. He was born in Hartford, CT, on July 7, 1954, to Raymond Sr. and Virginia Deshaies, both of whom preceded him in death. Ray resided in Haddam Neck for the past 20 years. He had a deep love of nature and animals and lived there surrounded by those things he loved. Ray was a trucker by profession. Unbeknownst to most, he was a talented artist. He enjoyed working in watercolor, pencil and charcoal, painting and drawing a large variety of subjects. In the last few years, he began cartooning. He also enjoyed gardening and was much interested in history, especially World War II. Ray is survived by his devoted partner of 27 years, Kristina Glosser, who loved him deeply and will miss him profoundly. At Ray's request, there will be no services. Donations in his memory may be made to his favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Connecticut Humane Society.

My dear sweet Ray, i feel your presence every day. You are a divine gift of snow. You are birds in flight . When I awaken to a sun rise you are there. Remember the times you stayed at the shop and scared the paper boy , with a clap of thunder he thought you were Christ , as you peered out the window. How funny you thought of it as you related the story to me

Thank you, Denise, for your kind words. I truly appreciate your notes. Ray mentioned you many times. (Am I right that you worked at the dog grooming shop?) Ray never completely lost his restless spirit. And he never lost his kindness and compassion for others.

To Ray family, I was a friend of Ray´s back in Hartford. He had a wild free spirit. I loved being around him. To him I was known as Denny . He was a kind and gentle person, if you could see past the wild side. I always wonder what had happened to him after I left Hartford. Glad he was in good company,
