Scott KELLOGG Obituary

KELLOGG, Scott C. "Sir" Scott Cameron Kellogg, 55, of Wethersfield, entered his eternal journey on Friday, May 13, 2011. He was born on March 5, 1955, in Hartford to the late Ruth (Stevenson) Kellogg and Alonzo Kellogg of Newington. "Scotty", as he was known to his family and friends, enjoyed his life on earth to the maximum. Scott loved sports. He was a member of the Special Olympics of Newington. He participated with the State of Connecticut Special Olympics Championship Games where he won a number of Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. He was also an active participant of the HARC Bowling Club. In addition to sports, Scotty enjoyed traveling and eating good food. He had the opportunity to visit Mexico, Florida, Canada, Las Vegas, Cape Cod, New Hampshire and almost every city and town in Connecticut. Scotty was a free spirit. He enjoyed music and art. He loved camping and his favorite chore was collecting the wood to make campfires. He always initiated singing around the fire and knew all the words to all of the songs. In the 1990's, Mr. Kellogg worked at the Phoenix Insurance Company. Later, he participated with the LEP program at HARC until 2011. He is survived by his guardian Sharon Vassilopoulos of Rocky Hill. In addition, Scotty leaves behind his family: Emmett Powers, Susan Detweiler, Gordon MacKinnon, Sara Guilmartin, Katrina Hogaboom, Vincent and Carmen Amore, Dawn Amore Diaz, Lillian Mojica, Fermine Rismay, Jose and Sara Montanez, Cheryl Vernale, Dustin Balula and Louise White. Besides his family, Scott also leaves behind his good friends Michael Verrett, Kim Sarmuk, Julie Casey, Jerry Lemanski, Debbie Wyskiel and all the staff at the LEP. On behalf of Scott, the Family would like to express its gratitude to Dr. Andrew Feller, Dr. Kouch and all the nurses and staff at St. Francis Hospital for the love and care provided to Scott while he was in their care. Relatives and friends are invited to Scotty's funeral service on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. He will be laid to rest privately in Riverside Cemetery, Waterbury. To share your memories of Scott, please visit us at www.newingtonmemorial.com.

You & I we're friends from outer space, Afraid to let go, The only 2 who undrstood this place, And as far as we know, We were way before our time, As bold as we were blind, Just another PERFECT MISTAKE! Another bridge to take on the way to letting GO!
This ain't GOODBYE, This is just where love goes When words aren't warm enough To keep away the cold. Oh No, this ain't goodbye!! It's not where our story ends, But I know U can't be mine, Not the way you've always been!!
i will always be your gossip PRINCESS ;) Say hi to KB, RB & JT cant't wait to see your smile again ;)

Carmen, Vinny, Dawn and all Scott's family that he has lived with for the past 20 plus years- you gave fulfillment to Scott's life. He couldn't have had such a rich life it were not for you and all his friends at RMS. Your love for him and his for you was never more evident than the past months. Everyone's devotion for him was inspiring! Thank you for letting me share in this. Your "family" is very special!!

Scott, you were my good buddy who taught me much of what I still use today. You were the best roommate a friend could have. I will always enjoy the memories you helped me make. My life is so much richer because of you. Thank you for that.
