Dr. Stuart Falk, 91, of Farmington, CT, passed away quietly on October 28, 2021, with his family by his side. Stu was born on April 9, 1930 to the late Louis and Julia (Levin) Falk. He graduated from Forest Hills High School, Harvard College, and NYU School of Medicine. Stu married the love of his life, Viv, in 1953 and pursued his lifelong love of travel by visiting destinations all over the world with her. He served as a Captain in the US Army Medical Corps from 1955-1957 and in the Army Reserve. In 1961, Stu opened his own practice in Bristol specializing in urology. He served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCONN Medical School, where he was adored by students and young doctors he mentored. He brought the Lithotripter, a huge advancement in the field of urology, to Connecticut and the Meals on Wheels program to Bristol. Following his retirement in 1992, he worked at the VA in Newington. Stu is survived by his wife of 68 years, Vivian (Silver) Falk and his children, Robert Falk of North Reading, MA, Marsha Falk Deluse and husband Mark of Farmington, CT, and Michael Falk and wife Janice of Windsor, CT. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Michelle and Alex Deluse, Becca Falk, Laura and Liz Falk, and his sister, Carol (Falk) Zinman of Aventura, FL. A burial and service will be held at Beth Israel Cemetery, Lake Ave, Bristol, CT at noon Tuesday, November 2 followed by a reception at Michael's home. Donations in Stu's memory may be made to the Louis August Jonas Foundation (lajf.org), who fund and operate Camp Rising Sun, an international, full-scholarship, leadership summer program for?students?aged 14–16, an experience Stu loved and spoke fondly of throughout his life.

I had the pleasure of working with this kind and capable surgeon in the OR at Bristol Hospital until the day he retired. We missed him dearly as I´m sure his family misses him now. May he rest peacefully

I am so saddened to see the passing of such a legacy in the field of Urology. Dr. Falk has always been such a staple in my life from a very young age when I had to have surgery by him to remove my kidney.. he saved my life! I was always grateful to him throughout the many years that I treated with him. It was later in years that I saw he became my Aunt Ellie´s neighbor, which I was so happy to have been able to visit with DrFalk and Viv a few times. Such a loving man.... And Viv, I am sooooo sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your family. His memory will always live in my heart forever. He was a great man and the BEST doctor ever!!! Viv, just know that he may be gone from us now on this earth but he will forever live in the hearts of many!!! He´s touched so many lives with giving them the opportunity to improve their health. I will miss him dearly. Viv, my Deepest Sympathy and prayers go out to you and your family. May he forever be granted eternal peace.

Doc was a huge part of my life. He actually saved my life. I was his patient from age 10 til he retired. I always knew he was there for every little pain I had. Dr. Falk was a cherished colleague of my parents, Sidney and Pearl, and frequented nights out and house parties with them and other Bristol professionals for decades. They were devoted members of the Beth Israel Synagogue congregation for many years! I fondly remember our 1979 trip to Cartagena with Dr. Falk, Viv and my parents. I had occasion to be treated my Dr. Falk in 1982, I was most impressed by his kind demeanor and consummate professionalism. Dr. Falk was an icon in the Bristol medical and Jewish community, and he will surely be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

BORN
