Lester Riggio Obituary
LESTER CHRYL RIGGIO, 78, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday April 26, 2024, at Cabell
Huntington Hospital with his wife of 58 years, Ellen "Cookie" Wray, by his side. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Reverend Jennifer Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Balls Chapel Church Cemetery, Ashton, W.Va. Lester was born December 3, 1945, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Sylvester David and Elenora Martha Staples Riggio. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from the Cabell County BOE. Also preceding him in death was his sister, Mary Ann Harvey and brother, Alfred Riggio.
Along with his wife Cookie, survivors include two daughters, Jacqueline Gail (Kevin) McCaffrey of Lesage, and Robin Nicole (Jamie) Ross of Huntington; two sons, Leslie Scott (Karen) Riggio of Grottoes, Va., and Joseph Michael Riggio (Craig Chastain) of Landis, N.C.; four grandchildren, Jacob and Josh Riggio and Ayden and Delilah Ross; one great-grandson; one sister, Christa (Jim) Stamper of Huntington; and several loving nieces and nephews. Lester was always smiling or joking with you and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.chapmans-mortuary.com.
