ROBERT SCOTT "Bobby" NECESSARY

1946 - 2018

ROBERT (BOBBY) SCOTT NECESSARY, 72, passed away August 22, 2018, in Austin, Texas. Bobby's courage and optimistic attitude during his lengthy illness inspired all who knew him. He was a loving husband, extraordinary father, wonderful grandfather, fun-loving brother and loyal friend who cared deeply for others. Born in Huntington on June 14, 1946, he was the son of Robert Henry Necessary and Pauline (Polly) Biddle Necessary. He graduated from Huntington High School and Marshall University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. On June 22, 1968, he married his high school and college sweetheart, Pattie Ginger. The couple recently celebrated fifty years of marriage. In 1969, Bobby and Pattie moved to Atlanta, Ga., where he began an outstanding career in the insurance industry. His care and concern for his clients made him a top producer for over 25 years. He was a past President of Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta, Ga., and was instrumental in bringing talented Culinary Olympic chefs to the Town Club, making the dining experience a much sought-after event. Retiring to Naples, Florida, in 2000, Bobby volunteered and was a peer leader for the Collier County Mental Health Association. He was also a founding member of the Naples Chapter of the New Canaan Society, a Christian Men's Group. Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Pattie Necessary of Austin, TX; daughter, Trisha Necessary of Naples, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Rustin and Jessica Necessary of Austin, TX; his precious grandchildren, Brooklyn, Wells and Ford Necessary of Austin, TX; his beloved sisters, Nancy (Lawrence) Gravely of Louisville, Ky., Sally Hanshaw of Woodstock, Ga., Polly (Steve) Hines of Canton, Ga., Dr and Mrs. Mike Cobb (Betty Lou) of Roswell, Ga.; and an incredible brother, Jimmy Necessary of Woodstock, Ga. A Celebration of Bobby's Life will be held October 13, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Chapel of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30305.
