CHURCH HILL – Pastor Cecil E. Necessary, 72, went home to be with the Lord quietly on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

Cecil was born in Kingsport, TN, on September 15, 1953, to his parents, the late Walter and Dorothy (Hartsock) Necessary. Cecil was called to the ministry at a young age and had preached the word of God for over 50 years. He believed in the words of Acts 2:38 KJV, Baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved all his family and church family dearly.

In addition to his parents Cecil was preceded in death by his siblings, Johnny Necessary, Patty Necessary Powell, Jody Dana Necessary Ragle, Jimmy Necessary, Wayne Necessary, Teresa Faye Necesssary Beagley, and Betty Jean Necessary; and his grandson, Jordan Orion Necessary.

Cecil is survived by his loving wife, Sarah D. (Collins) Necessary; children, Terry Necessary, Jerry Necessary (Tonya), Cecil D. Necessary "Punkin", Betty Jo Necessary Lucas (David), Jack K. Arnold, Jr. (Jessica), and William Joseph Arnold; grandchildren, Courtney, Lindsey, Dustin, Skyler (Kristen), Caden, Landon, Lacy, Dalton, Jesse, Kylie, William, and Sarah; great grandchildren, Asher, Ty'onna, Samuel, and Braxton; special mother-in-law, Margaret Price; special sisters-in-law, Buffy Rowland, Linda Prater, Kathy Crawford, Teresa Waycaster, Debbie Necessary, and Joe Reels Necessary; brothers-in-law, William "Bill" Collins, and Clifford Waycaster; as well as many special nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Suncrest Hospice nurse, Jacie Reeves for the love and care she gave Cecil and their family.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 PM on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ, 131 Prospect Church Rd. Weber City, VA 24251. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM with Bro. Ken Lyons, and Bro. Bro. Ron Derrick officiating. Music will be provided by the church chorus. A graveside service will follow in procession to Church Hill Memory Gardens.
