WILLIAM WILSON Obituary





WILLIAM C. WILSON JR., formerly of Huntington and Bluefield, W.Va., went peacefully home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 29, 2016. He was at his home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, surrounded by his wife and those whom loved and cared for him. He was born on July 4, 1934, in Bluefield, W.Va., the son of William C. Wilson Sr. and Avis Owen Wilson. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and one sister, Anne Owen Wilson Long. He was a graduate of Beaver High School in Bluefield, W.Va. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Science from West Virginia University. He served in the United States Army and was deployed to Germany. He was employed by G.E. Credit Company in Chesapeake, Ohio, and Flat Top Insurance Agency in Bluefield, W.Va. He was an active member and church secretary at Bland Street United Methodist Church in Bluefield before transferring membership to Trinity United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was a lifelong member and past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent Order of Elks in Bluefield, W.Va. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and sports fan. He was loved by all that knew him and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Lee Wilson; his son, William C. Wilson III and wife Diana of Huntington, W.Va.; his daughter, Beth Wilson Villani and her husband Dennis of Oldenburg, Indiana, and his daughter, Sharon Johnston of Winston-Salem. He is survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in his honor to Bland Street United Methodist Church, Bluefield, W.Va., or the Tab Williams Adult Day Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at one of his favorite fishing holes. Online condolences may be made at www.frankvoglerandsons.com.
