Lottie Hobler Obituary

VANDALIA -- Lottie Mae Hobler, 100, of Vandalia died 8:15 p.m. Tuesday (July 29, 2003) in Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Pentecostal Church, Vandalia, with the Rev. Paul Cagle Jr. officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services in the church. Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia, is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Memorials: First Pentecostal Church.

Mrs. Hobler was born March 12, 1903, in Ramsey, the daughter of Zeal and Mary Jane Holman Jackson. She was a homemaker and member of First Pentecostal Church and American Legion Auxiliary Post 95, Vandalia. She married Walter Edward Hobler on Aug. 16, 1921, in Sioux City, Iowa. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1969.

Surviving are her daughter, Katie Schukar and husband Orville of Vandalia; son, Donald Hobler of Brownstown; brother, Vess Kelly of Alton; grandchildren, Judy Varga and husband Bob, Robin Schukar, Randy Schukar, Mike Hobler and wife Connie and Ed Hobler and wife Robin, all of Vandalia; Carol Brundage and husband Bill of North Richland, Texas; Rick Hobler and wife Karen of Lincoln; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Harold Hobler; grandchildren, Ronnie Schukar and Johnny Hobler; three brothers; and five sisters.
