Dear Singh family,

I knew Charlene briefly through Miramar highschool and went to the University of Miami and graduated the same time with her but I majored in nursing. She seemed like a very sweet person with a good head on her shoulders. I'm deeply sorry for your loss and my condolences go out to you and your entire family. My prayers are with you all.

To Charlene's Family,

I would just like to extend my deepest sympathy for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I had the privilege of going to Miramar High School with Charlene but unfortunately never had the opportunity to see or speak with her again after graduation. It came to me as a terrible shock when I heard of her condition 2 years ago. She had been in my thoughts and prayers ever since. I'm sure she's in a better place where she no longer has to suffer.

Though she's gone in flesh, remember her the way she was before her illness, as a bright, beautiful, vibrant young lady, who always met you with a smile. The funeral service was beautiful and I'm sure she is very proud of her family for staying strong, because she too was strong.

Keep Faith & stick together in these hard times. You now have a beautiful Angel to watch over you and yours. May GOD Bless her family.

To the family of Charlene, I am so sorry for such a great loss. Charlene and I went to high school together and also had the opportunity to visit Uzbekistan in 1995. She was a great person who always wanted to "make things right". She was a fighter and I thought she would stick this thing out. I know that now she is in a better place. The funeral ceromony was beautiful and for those who were not there the angels shed their beautiful tears for her as we got to the burial site. May God bless her soul as she now watches over us.

To the Singh family:

I went to Miramar High School with Charlene. It was a group of us including Odette, Sharon, Karen, Lesley and some other friends. I saw her perhaps a year before her college graduation outside of Barnes & Noble and she was fine; I thought she looked great. I can't believe how suddenly something like this happened. Charlene was a very nice person to know and I know that she is in a better place now. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. God Bless.

To Charlene's Family,

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy for your loss. I have you in my thoughts and prayers.

Charlene and I were friends in high school. The last time I saw her was at Express in Pembroke Lakes Mall. We chatted for a little bit trying to catch up on things. I remember telling her to keep in touch but as life would have it we lost touch. I was shocked to hear the news about her condition a year later. I wanted to visit her, but I heard that the family wanted privacy which is understandable. Charlene was a great friend with that wonderful accent and sensible advice. She was smart and dedicated and I will always remember her as being that person. Again, my condolences to the family.

My grandfather, Everet Eugene Sheridan, passed of CJD in BROWARD COUNTY (Dania) in 1981. If I can be of any assistance to you, please contact me. My mother still lives in Dania and her heart goes out to you. We know first hand what this devistating disease does to bright, loving, wonderful people.

I am very sorry to hear about what happened to Charlene. I met her in the eighth grade at Norland Middle School. I was new to the area from Jamaica and she had just arrived from England. We found each other in the crazy world that is middle school in America. We lost touch after that year when we went on to different high schools. However, I always wondered how she was doing and hoped that she continued her brilliance. Looking back, I remember her as always smiling and jovial with witty anectodes and dry humor.

I was alarmed to read the article about her condition two years ago and wanted to get in contact with her or the family; however the article mentioned that the family wished to maintain her privacy, which I completely understood. Now I am truly saddened to know that the world has lost such a hining star and that I never had the opportunity to see her again.

I would very much like to attend her funeral or any memorial that may take place. If possible, please post the information or feel free to e-mail with any information about such arrangements.

Sincerely,

Wanda Culp-Lias
