LOUISA HOFMANN Obituary

HOFMANN, LOUISA SIMPSON STRAUSS April 18, 1921 - June 14, 2012 Born in West Virginia, after attending William & Mary College she married her 1st husband, William Strauss. They moved to New York City where she was a successful fashion model with the Ford Agency. Moving to Miami they opened a night club at the Sagamore Hotel on Miami Beach. Later moving to Coral Gables where they hosted many fund- raisers at a beautiful home currently on the Historical Register. Louisa was the Founder and first President of the Miami Ballet Society. A very active philanthropist, she was a member of the Young Patronesses of the Opera, past president & Founders Group Member of Children's Resource Fund and a member of the Animal Welfare Society of South Florida. Louisa was preceded in death by William Strauss and her second husband Ross E. Hofmann. She is survived by her brothers Bill Simpson, James Simpson and sister Mary Alice Simpson along with her children, Dr. William Strauss, Patricia Strauss and Victoria Strauss Nunez, granddaughters Rachel Gray Rodriguez, Regina Nunez and Ross Hofmann's children Kurt, Gail, Carol, Ana and Susan.
