I was very saddened to learn of Paul´s passing. I can still recall his very distinct laugh around the Bagel Emporium. My time as an employee of BE are some of my fondest memories of my time at UM.
My sincerest sympathies to Myra, Melissa and Andrew.

Myra and family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Paul was the nicest (well to me!), kindness man. Whenever I saw him, he would always stop to have a brief conversation and ask how everyone was. I am sure your hearts ache but remember the good times. Diane

I spent my teen age years with Paul.
Those memories remain in my heart.
I was there when he met Myra... truly a woman of valor with a wonderful sense of humor. They were and are a blessed couple.

Always a smile when I saw Paul. Never failed to brighten my day with his wit, wisdom, and that smile. May his memory be a blessing.

Paul was one of the "good" guys, he was a 60 year "3000" mile friend from day 1, and back in 1995 he gave me job, it was a privilege to work in his "deli", he and Myra gave me a second chance

I recall the first day Bagel Emporium opened. I remember the young cool couple that owned it, and Melissa and Andrew were playing with the calculator! From that first visit, and becoming a regular, Paul and Myra became our friends and mentors. It was more then just a deli, and as the years went on, and I stayed in Miami, from celebrations , shivas, bris’s and blessings, they continued to be a part of my life and eventually, I’d come to see their grandchildren where I was teaching. Paul will forever be a part of my favorite college moments and memories , including when I becoming a grandmother! My favorite funny thoughts reflect more recently, from Roasters to The Palace:
He always was happy to see me! He made me feel very special, and always would say:
It’s Wendy Walzer, (my maiden name) and yell it out when a table was ready back in the day;
I’m thankful for this history we shared, the memories made, and a friendship that continued throughout the chapters of our lives!..
From that opening day in 1974 of The
Bagel Emporium, (There is still no chicken salad as good, anywhere), I will Remember with love and a special place in my heart...
Rest In Peace Paul...

We mourn the loss of a wonderful man who had a great dry sense of humor and a mild manner in his approach to life. Our hearts go out to Myra, Melissa and Andrew for this loss. Paul and Myra were an institution in so Florida; "The Bagel" they created and worked at for so any years will never be the same. Love to you.
