Dearest Father Richard,
Our family will miss you so much. We are so blessed to have known you. I'll never forget your wit and kindness. Everybody loved you from the minute they met you. May God comfort and keep you with the best of the best. That is what you are. Please take care of Dad, Nu Nu, Auntie Marion and Burnis for me. I'm so sorry I didn't get to come to your funeral mass. I will continue to pray for you daily. My heart is broken even though I know you are now at peace. Much Love, Nancy

Our family was so very saddened to learn of dear Father’s passing. While during one of my many visits to meet a friend of mine at Mercy Hospital, I was most honored and privileged to have met Father. We quickly became good friends and, eventually, very dear to our family, immeasurably. How blessed we are for he was, and will always remain, a wonderful part of our families’ lives as we would graciously welcome him into our Tavernier home during his brief stays in the area. As well, we are so very grateful to have visited with him when he resided at St. Anne’s.
We wish to extend our most heartfelt and deepest sympathies to all of your families. Please know that you are in all of our thoughts and prayers.
With Our Love,
Charles, Faye Wakeman and Family

Father, I was thinking of you so much in the last few months. I hope that you had the opportunity to see the many articles I sent to you on Cardinal De Nardo as well as the boys picture. You were so kind to my dad and myself on my many visits to Miami. I will fondly remember the many dinners out that we had. I always remembered your wise words when raising the boys in their faith, and have followed your advice. May you be at peace now with the Lord and please say hi to my mom for me. I will miss you. God Bless you.
