Jerry Wayne Morris

MORRIS, Jerry Wayne, age 66 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at his residence. He was born on March 16, 1949, to the late William Frank Morris and Katherine Huber Morris. A retired boilermaker at AEDC, he had served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Mr. Morris was an amateur pyrotechnic specialist who also enjoyed carpentry and country music. He was a selfless and giving man who dearly loved his daughters and grand-sons. Survivors include his daughters, Rachel (Tim) Cofer of Signal Mountain and Betsy Morris of Winchester; brothers, William F. (Joyce) Morris Jr., Gordon (Shirley) Morris and Michael Morris, all of Winchester and Eddie Morris of Cowan; sister, Lena Sue (Dwight) Robinson of Winchester; and grandsons, Jessie Wayne Morris, Nyrider Dennis Cofer, Virgil Morris Cofer and Orrin Konrad Cofer. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester with Rev. Leon Williams officiating.
