Kathryn Gayle Gregory

GREGORY, Kathryn Gayle, (June 18, 1938 – Dec. 23, 2016), age 78, died on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016. She was born on June 18, 1938, in Fayetteville, Tenn. Gayle was the oldest of three children born to Thomas Evans Gregory and Catherine Ozelle Templeton Gregory of Winchester, Tenn. Gayle's childhood was spent in Franklin County where she graduated from Franklin County High School in 1956, and she attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. After attending the University of Tennessee, she studied cosmetology, became a licensed hairdresser and operated a salon of her own for two years in Knoxville. Gayle's adult life was spent working in the cosmetic industry for Revlon and Ralph Lauren. In 1973, she was selected as "Consultant of the Year" for Revlon Cosmetics. Gayle traveled throughout the country as an advisor and regional manager before returning to Winchester upon retirement. Her job involved working with leaders in the cosmetic industry such as Bill Blass, Ralph Lauren, Candice Bergen, Giorgio Armani, Pierre Cardin, Oleg Cassini and Paloma Picasso. Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Evans Gregory and Catherine Ozelle Templeton Gregory. She is survived by a brother, Michael Evans Gregory and wife, Norma, of Sugar Grove, Ill.; sister, Deborah Gregory Hansen of Aubrey, Texas; nephew, Chris Gregory and wife, Angie, of Nolensville, Tenn.; nephew, Gregory Sanford, of Denton, Texas; niece, Sara Gregory, of Sugar Grove, Ill.; great-nephew, Sawyer Gregory, of Nolensville, Tenn.; great-niece, Marlee Gregory, of Nolensville, Tenn.; and great-nephew, Charlie Gregory of Sugar Grove, Ill. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of Extended Family Care Nursing Facility and Avalon Hospice Agency in Manchester, Tenn. A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester.
