Mackie Priest Obituary

PRIEST, Mackie Allen, age 74 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Southern Tennessee Regional Medical Center Winchester. A native of Franklin County, he was born on March 25, 1941, to the late Harley C. and Sue Woodard Priest. Mackie worked as a district manager for the Nashville Banner and the Tennessean for over 31 years. He was a member of the Winchester Church of Christ and loved wood turning, camping and his dogs, Booger, Popeye, and Sugar Bear. In addition to his parents, Mackie was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Priest Mead. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patty Bass Priest of Winchester; son, Mackie Priest Jr. of Winchester; brother Earl (Joan) Priest of Franklin; nieces, Cheryl (Jimmy) Campbell, Lisa (Townes) Parsley and Kristie (Kevin) Demumbran; special cousin, Edna Bradley; and several other cousins. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2015, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joseph Horton officiating. Interment will follow in the Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 1st Ave. N.W., Winchester, TN 37398 in charge of local arrangements, 967-2222.
