Rosa Bell Wright

1920 - 2015

WRIGHT, Rosa Bell Scott, went to be with Christ on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015. She was 95 years young. She was born in Alabama on Oct. 23, 1920, to G.R. and Geneva Bell Kidd Scott. She and her husband, S.J. were farmers and she sewed balls at home for Lanom's Manufacturing Company for 17 years. She loved her flowers and gardening. She cooked in the lunchroom at the old Walnut Grove School in the late 1940's. She and her husband loved working and attending their church. She was a member of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. She loved caring for her family and taking care of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and neighbor's children. She is loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She was everyone's Gran Gran and Granny Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, S.J. Wright; three sisters, Ethel Smith, Lily Hoffstetter and Nona McCreeless; seven brothers, George, Henry, Homer, Clarence, Carl, Virgil and Add Scott. She is survived by her three children, Winford Joe (Peggy) Wright, Zora Geneva (Billy) Kelly and Carolyn Louise (Kay) Cook; grandchildren, Randy (Tammy) Kelly, Mike (Robin) Wright, Mark (Betty) Kelly, Doug (Kathy) Wright, Ricky (Jayda) Wright, Karen (Jerry) Floyd, Kevin Cook, Kerri (Jonas) Harmond and Daniel (Beth) Wright; 22 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. Ms. Wright will be laid to rest at Walnut Grove Cemetery beside her husband, S.J. Wright.
