Sad to hear of her passing. I adored this woman, she was always so kind to me.

When living in East Texas....I ran across some friends from my high school days post on Facebook who was telling me that Verna Blood my old P.E. teacher in Denison was still alive and was swimming daily!! I was elated to lean this as she was a favorite of mine and I could totally envision her doing just that. I was able to get her phone number then and called her. We had a delightful chat and, with an open invitation from her, I purposed in my heart that next time I was in that area I would look her up. What a wonderful time we had...remembering the old days and laughing over this and that!! I told her a few things that I remembered from her teaching from back then...and was so happy to be able to tell her how special she always was to me. I got to meet her son Mark and was happy to learn that he and my oldest son shared the same birth year....While looking for a home over in Denison later, I looked at one just down the street from her and she promised that if I got it, she'd walk up and have coffee with me. Sadly, we didn't, but just recently did buy one there and I had even told my husband I couldn't wait to tell her we had finally got one. God decided to call her home before that happened...and I never knew when she passed....but I know I'll see her again!! I am so very thankful to have HAD a 'Verna Blood" in my life, and even more grateful the Lord allowed me to see her again and enjoy even more of her time and wisdom...My thoughts and prayers to Mark and his family. God bless you all!

To have lived a long life and gained experience to share is truly a reward (Psalms 90:10). To family and friends, may you find comfort in the many cherished memories.
