Angie Van Wyngarden Obituary

Angie Van Wyngarden, 87, passed away July 1, 2014. She was born September 4, 1926, in Rural Marion County, Iowa, the daughter of Bartus and Anzie (Beintema) Klyn. On September 4, 1945, she was married to Henry Van Wyngarden in Pella, Iowa, and their marriage was blessed with five children. In 1956, the family relocated to Sunnyvale, Calif. In 1958, they moved to Everett, where they have resided since. She is survived by her five children, Jerry (Carole) Van Wyngarden, Lowell Van Wyngarden (Donna Waldhausen), Marla (Donald) Carter, Russell (Diane) Van Wyngarden, and Mark (June) Van Wyngarden. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Halcott Carter, Katherine Van Wyngarden, and Jeffrey Van Wyngarden, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Hank, her husband of 60 years; her parents; three brothers, Gerrit, Ed and Arie Klyn; and three sisters, Flora Buwalda, Bertha Van Veldhuizen, and Agnes Dieleman. Entombment will be at the Evergreen Mausoleum following a private family service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in her memory to the Everett Gospel Mission, PO Box 423, Everett, Wash., 98206. Arrangements are being cared for under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery, www.evergreen-fh.com, in Everett.

Very sorry that Aunt Angie has died. She was the last of her generation and such a gracious link for us to our own mother and grandparents. My earliest memories were of her high school days. In a time before school buses, she had to live in town, first with Flora's family & then with us while our dad was in the army. I always admired her, especially for her faithful care of Hank in his later years. Enjoyed visiting with her and Marla last year. I know you will miss her and send condolences.
