Barbara Eakin Obituary

Barbara Eakin, 54, of Marysville, WA, died January 7, 2014, of injuries suffered in a car accident on December 18, 2014 in Burien, Washington. Barbara and her husband were enroute to a family Christmas that was to be followed by their belated honeymoon in Belize. They were married in August. Barbara was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on August 22, 1959. She moved to Washington in 2004. Barbara is survived by her husband, Clay, with whom she had spent an amazing eight years; and by her daughter and her partner, Rhonda and Chad; and by her granddaughter, Amber, who was the light of her life. Barbara worked as office manager at JP Landscaping in Duvall, WA. Barbara was an avid and skilled knitter and a member of the Snohomish Knitters Guild and Ravelry.com. She had won ribbons at the fair and was knitting teddy bears for sick children. Barbara loved her family, her home, her yard and her knitting. Barbara is also survived by several siblings: Marcia Muchnick of Whidbey Island, Nancy Ingham, Patrick Rish and Bruce Rish of Massachusetts, Joyce Crane of Maine, Donald Rish of Texas; and special cousins, Ronald Dube and his wife, Monique of Texas, Norma Oliver of Florida and Roger Dube of Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Barbara's name to Pasado's Safe Haven animal rescue in Sultan, WA. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held in the Spring.

You were such a wonderful person, a great Mom, an awesome Nanee, and truly my best friend. I am so glad you found the happiness you deserved with such a wonderful guy as Clay, I only wish it wasn't so short lived. I love you Barbara, and I will forever miss you. - Missy

Dear Barbara's family,
I don't know you but I am sure I am not the only one whose heart is saddened and touched by your loss. Barbara sounds like she was such a beautiful person inside and out and happily starting a new chapter in her life. I am so sorry for your loss and urge you all to take care of yourselves and each other in the years to come. My deepest condolences to all of you.
