Donald Elgin Obituary
Don was born on January 22nd, 1930 in Amity Oregon and would move to Yakima Washington as a child. Don served as a sergeant in the US Army from 1948-1952. After that he returned to Yakima where he would marry his first wife Roxanna Means and move to Seattle. There they raised 4 kids. He married his second wife Carol (Lyon) in 1990. They spent their years together traveling the country in their motorhome, vacations in Hawaii and multiple cruises. ?It is an understatement to say Don was an avid card player. There was very little he loved more than to get friends or family together to play cards. He was also a great pool player. His other passion was dancing. If he wasn't playing cards or pool he was probably somewhere 'cutting a rug'.
Don was an easy going fun loving soul who saw the good in all people. He was loved by just about everyone that ever got to know him. He was full of zest and got everything you could possibly squeeze out of his 92 years of life. Don was also a cancer survivor. He was a proud member of the Eagles club in Lynnwood where he made many friends.
Don was preceded in death by mother Beatrice Buffum, father Homer Elgin, sister Violet Wolfe, first wife Roxanna Elgin, second wife Carol Elgin (Lyon), son in law Milo Eggleston and grand daughter Jennifer Nigro (Richardson). He is survived by his four children, Steve Elgin (Sandi) and Kelley Eggleston both residing in Arizona and Matthew Elgin (DIanne) and Laurie Calderon (Bruce) both living in Washington. He is also survived by stepchild Clay Richardson (Julie) of Vancouver Wa. and by step sister Roberta Elgin Lloyd of Chelan Wa. He has many loving grandchildren... Kristy, Shawn, Brandon, Lindsay, Kelsey, Josh, Gage, Sydney, Lyon, Jessica, Joyel and many great grandchildren. A celebration of Don's life will be held at the Lynnwood Eagles on Sunday July 17th at 2 PM. January 22, 1930 - June 19, 2022
