Mr. Schmidt was a presence. Both he and Mrs. Schmidt have always been welcoming and kind.
Blessings to the ever growing Schmidt family as you celebrate his rich and wide reaching life and mourn his loss. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy.

I am so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I was a customer at the Clairmont Herfy's for years. Good food, nice employees and an owner that cared about both his employees and his customers. Fred was a really nice guy.

So sorry to hear about this. I have fond memories of going on Our Lady of Perpetual Help field trips to the Schmidt house to swim.

The Schmidt Home was always open to friends and family to stop by. Many great times were had on Sandy Beach Road, or the boat on the Lake. Big Fred will be missed!! Not only did he have a big presence at home, but at Everett Sausage Fest or his support for the Catholic Church. We cannot forget Herfys on Broadway!!!
Rest in Peace!!!
Thank you for everything!!!!

Living close to sandy beach grocery, we knew the family well. Watched Fred wake surfing on a long board from the bridge by Peggy's tavern when I was a kid, ahead of his time. Fred was a kind man always had time to chat. A real legend. R.I.P old friend.

Fred was a kind and compassionate boss. I came to work for him at Herfy's #1 when I was sixteen (in 1964) and continued until I completed my studies in Bellingham (1971). He even paid my tuition!
