Even though we never met, my wife Liz and I heard much about Gary from our friends Debbie and Scott. He seems to have been a great guy who enjoyed life and the outdoors. Our son Nicholas, who died on Nov. 23rd, would have liked meeting him. Since Nicholas was thought of as Deb's second son and brother to Scott, we think of Scott as our second son. The last month and a half have been especially difficult for Deb and Scott, who are in our thoughts and prayers. I am sure Gary and Nicholas will cross paths and will be waiting for us to all be together one day.

Don't know if I thanked you(enough) for teaching me to throw the javelin when we were in high school. You may have been a year younger but you came off as the strong, silent, older-brother type with a big smile. Was hoping I'd run into you over the years but I guess I was gone too much of the time. God Bless You, Gary

G~You were the best bro-in-law I could ever ask for. We bonded good and I liked that! The best times beyond our improptu "magic show" of course was the boat shopping which seemed to go on forever. . .so many to look at & so little time and the 3 of us never could agree. Funny how life turns out my friend. Loved you so much you crazy guy and just not enough time to share with you. My love & understanding always. - Connie

So sorry I didn't get to say goodby to you in person. I wanted to tell you thank you for giving me the most precious gift anyone can give another and that is our son, Scott. He has grown to be a wonderful man, and I am so very proud of him as I am sure you are also. I have so many memories of cleaning your game, and still laugh at that stupid pigeon. I know Uncle Ray is finally sharing his pickled stealhead recipe with you. Boy what I wouldn't give for a taste of that right now. We tried to get it out of him and to my knowledge he wouldn't share that with anyone. So you finally won that one. Thanks for all the good memories and some of you is still here within our son. You will be remembered with love and affection. Your first wife. Deb

I miss you like no other, dear brother. Better start practicing that golf game because when I get there, I plan to give you a whuppin on the golf course.
Give Grams a big hug and kiss from me; I really miss her. Ray Stender probably already knows where all the good steelhead fishing is in heaven so make sure you look him up. With Ray, Sam and Flossie, you should have a hunting trip to die for (no pun intended). Look for Ray where the fair wind blows.
Connie sends her love.
I'll see you soon enough, in the meantime, I miss you greatly.

We will miss Gary. He & Uncle Ray agreed they should sing a duet together for all of us with their unique voices. Maybe some day they may just do that. Uncle Ray & LuRee

So long friend, big brother, confidant and Superman! Gary knew he was all of that to me the past 25 years. I am so glad to have had the many opportunities to see Gary in his element after retirement. Montana is a place he did love and he finally found his lifetime love as well. Annie and Gary were the best couple together. Through all the treatments, Gary‘s love for Annie kept him fighting so strong for so long. Thank you Annie for being there for Gary. I hope you know how much he loved you. I will miss my fishing, hunting and investigation partner. The trust between us was stronger than brothers. We did have some great days fishing in the Ocean and Puget Sound in my old Sea Ray, The Linda Sue. Man we could work that boat! The times we got to spend with Ray from Winnipeg in his home Country Manitoba Canada and the fishing trips down here were priceless. When the three of us were together, we were a team and no matter what boat we were on, fish had no chance against us! Well, that is the way we thought about it anyway:) We had a hoot out hunting and I know we scared the hec out of a few deer over the years :) I will never forget all our adventures and hopefully harmless many jokes we played, on so many people, especially the Deer Tracks we made in the snow from that darn Deer Hoof, just to get all the many hunters headed in the opposite direction we were heading. It worked too! I am still laughing. Gary has left me a lifetime of memories. I remember them all. As Gar would say, Life is good, enjoy it while we are here:)

I remember "the good old days" when family "all" got together on holidays, taking turns at each other's houses. When Gary, Alan & Steve were little guys with my David, Diane and Susan..I remember Gary always had a little mischievious grin on his face and we thought. What are those kids up to now! Good times..So many changes through the years..I was delighted to know he was going to live close to where I was..back in my home town of Coeur d' alene, Idsho..His mom, Alice, my dear sister and I have gone through so much together..I will remember Gary when we had the happiest times of our lives...Love,Auntie Mag...P.S..see you again whenever God says it's time.....
