It is with heavy hearts we announce that Lance Henry Carleton, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 27, 2020.
Lance was born on Jan. 1, 1947 in Everett, Wa. to Bill and Winifred Carleton. The family operated a farm in the East Everett/Lake Stevens area. Lance graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1965. He then enlisted in the Navy for 4 years.
Lance became involved in the restaurant business in Iowa where he met his wife Sharon Steiner. In 1976, Lance, Sharon and their new son Andrew moved back to Lake Stevens and built a new home across from the family farm. Eventually Sharon and Lance parted ways. Lance later met Kay and they were married in 1984 and together raised Andrew.
Lance continued to work in the restaurant industry and later made his living creating and repairing restaurant kitchens. His business was named Carleton Project Management.
Lance loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and was a memeber of Hog and Abate. He had a passion for gardening and canning his homegrown vegetables. Friends and family can attest to the fact that he was a wonderful cook. He was a true artist and loved to create metal sculptures. These sculptures were sold and displayed by many art councils. They are still displayed in various locations around the state.
Lance enjoyed his friends at the Center for Spiritual Living.
Lance is survived by his son Andrew, his best friend Kay and his brothers, Dallas and Reid. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Winifred Carleton in 2004. His brother Neil Carleton passed away in 2018.
Lance will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family would like to invite all who have a special place in their hearts for Lance to an open air get together at the Carleton Farm Barn on May 16, 1-3 p.m. The address is 630 Sunnyside Blvd SE, Lake Stevens, Wa. The barn is across the street from Lance's home.

Lance was my husband from 1970 to 1972. He was such a gifted artist and had a great sense of humor. I send loving hugs to Andrew. I'm especially happy to see how Reid and Mary's farm has grown from a milk stand to an event center! All the best to the Carletons and sadness at the death of Lance.
