Gary William Carleton, age 82, passed away on December 2, 2025. He was born on October 15, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Gary proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from June 1963 to May 1967, a commitment he carried with honor throughout his life.

Following his military service, Gary worked for the Milwaukee Gas Company (WE Energies) from 1967 until his retirement in 1998, dedicating 31 years of loyal service. Gary was preceded in death by his wife, soulmate, and love of his life Mary R. Carleton; his parents Floyd and Lorraine Carleton; and his sister Karen. He is survived by his brother Keith (Pat) Carleton.

Gary is also survived by his children, Larry (Deanna) Carleton and Sherry Carleton. His grandchildren, Nicholas (Mandy) Carleton, Chase Kirkpatrick (Charlotte), Sierra, Sydney, and Savanna Carleton, his great-grandchildren Harper and Teagan Carleton and many relatives and friends.

A special mention is made of his brother-in-law, Bruce Leffler, who was the glue that introduced Gary to his beloved wife, Mary. Bruce passed away suddenly just a few months ago, a loss Gary felt deeply and struggled with until his passing. Their reunion brings comfort to those who loved them both.

Gary enjoyed working hard, playing baseball, and spending time with family and friends. He especially cherished the pool parties he shared with Mary, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. In recent months, Gary found great joy in watching his son and grandson playing baseball, and cheering on his great-granddaughter playing basketball.

Gary will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his strong work ethic, his service to his country and the enduring love that defined his life. His absence will be deeply felt by all those who knew and loved him. In keeping with the families' wishes, services honoring Gary's life will take place at a later date. The family will share details when the arrangements are complete.
