David Allen Carleton

DAVID ALLEN CARLETON passed away suddenly on November 23, 2025 at the age of 56. Born on September 22, 1969 in Cleveland, Ohio, Dave was a cherished son, brother, father and friend who made a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Dave grew up in northeast Ohio and was a proud graduate of Lakewood High School. His dedication to service was evident early on as he enlisted in the Navy after graduation. His time in the service instilled in him a sense of discipline and honor that he carried throughout his life. After his honorable discharge, Dave continued his service as a corrections officer at Lorain Correctional Institution. He was a well-respected colleague with an unwavering work ethic and loyalty to his career and everyone he met.
Dave is survived by his loving sons, Tyler and Kyle Carleton, who were the pride and joy of his life. Predeceased by his father, William Carleton, his legacy will be carried on by his mother, Terry Carleton-Bucher, his sisters, Bernadette Carleton-Bolognese and Karen Peterkoski (Todd), his beloved nieces and nephews, Anthony (McKenzie), Dominic, Mackenzie, Zachary, and Samantha as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Dave was a proud member of VFW Post 9871 and will be missed by his fellow veterans.
Dave's sudden departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and his spirit will forever be remembered and cherished.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 4 – 8 p.m. at VFW Post 9871, 6805 Lear Nagle Road, North Ridgeville 44039.
Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Road, on Saturday, December 13 at 11 a.m. Please meet inside the front gate.
