To the Bergan and extended family, as a family friend throughout my childhood and young adult life I felt great sorrow when I heard of the passing of Tom Sr. It is hard to explain how much of a fixture Tom Sr was in the Granite Falls community. As a young boy who played athletics in Granite Falls in the 70's & 80's you could not go to an event without seeing Tom Sr, whether he was coaching, umpiring, refereeing or just as a fan. Granite Falls truly lost a great community citizen. Condolences to the extended family, may Tom Sr. rest in peace.

It's difficult to briefly & adequately convey your feelings towards a member of your family -- especially when they've passed rather suddenly. He felt compelled to provide assistance to others and was exceptionally generous; that's who he was at heart. He was loved and will be missed. He's no longer in pain, may he rest in peace.
