I met Tom in 2000, when I became a coach operator at Coach USA. He was my trainer for me to learn every route in the book. Yes, I heard all his stories. Although I never met them, I knew all about Shirley, Tom Jr. and Tammy. I'll never forget Tom and his stories. I moved on to Community Transit and then to become Union Vice President. Whenever I saw Tom a kind word of friendship was always shared between us. I am proud to have known him and will fondly remember him. May he rest in peace. Sincerely, Rick Jurkovic

To the Cable Family,
Many thoughts for you from Raider fans. As you remember those great times, a tear may stay in your eye for a while. Take time and remember as we take time to provide thoughts and prayers. If Tom Jr is anything like tom Sr then we know he was a great man.

Shirley,Tammy,Tom Jr.-
Toms passing is a great loss to us all. Tammy and "Tommy", your Dad was more proud of you two than he could express. But he never stopped trying. He took great pleasure in keeping us informed of your accomplishments. Both when we were in the fire department together and more recently, working together at the bus company.
If you needed to have a job done or a question answered, Tom was the "go to" guy. We will miss him even more than we realize now.
Shirley, you and the "kids" are in our prayers.

Tom was a great friend, we worked together many years as volunteer firefighters. Tom had a never ending supply of stories. Tom recieved special recognition form the fire chief and others for his efforts when the Robinson aircraft went down while taking off from Paine Field. He will surely be missed. Lt David Nofziger

To Shirley and the Cable family,
My deepest sympathies to you and the whole family.
I am proud to have worked with Tom, and to have had the opportunity to know him. Tom was a man whose personal ethics no one will ever be able to match. Tom would never leave as long as work was left to be done. He lived his personal life in the same spirit. He was always there when he was needed. There will always be a place where Tom will live in each of us who knew him. I will miss him.

I was saddened to hear about Tom's leaving us. He was a great volunteer firefighter and a good friend. I remember all of the remodels that we had to slide under the permit counter and the summer that we had the Hydroplane in the barn was memorable. Tom had a big heart and was a charter member of the Sheri's Restaurant after drill club and the Denny's after a big fire club. I will miss his laugh and friendly smile. He was very proud of his kids and we heard about what fantastic things they were doing every week. I am also certain that George and Steve were there to greet Tom when he got to heaven.

Sorry to learn of Toms' death. I remember Tom as a dedicated hard working volunteer firefighter with Fire District 1. Tom was the kind of guy you were glad to have around, and could count on as a friend. I remember how proud he was of his son playing football.

I first met Tom when he was a volunteer firefighter with Fire District No. 1. Tom was dedicated and hard working, and if there was a difficult task that no one else was wiling to take on, he would throw himself into it with everything he had. Tom was unusually big physically, but God endowed him with a heart that was even bigger. I don't think I've ever met anyone who was kinder or more gentle.

It was an honor and pleasure to work with Tom. He was one hard working guy who would never leave if there was work left to do. We would sit and talk for hours about football, NASCAR and he would share his life experiences. Tom was in fact noted for his life experiences around here at the bus company. Whenever someone was experiencing a difficulty in life the standard advice would be, ask Tom Cable, he knows something about everything. We'll sure miss Tom, he was a great guy.

Toms Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I used to work with him at Phil Carson Cars and he was always so helpful and really cared about everybody. He was so warm and sincere and I will always remember him as a big old teddy bear. We used to sit and joke while he worked on the cars and he always had a smile.

I fell in love with Thomas when he was my Trainer @ Coach USA in 2003.He would have his thermos of coffee (sometimes giving me a guzzle)Talking of his wife and kids while sitting on the side of the road broke down. Letting me sit by him out at the smoke bus stop.He made me feel welcome there as a new person. He was a great guy. Thanks Tom!
