ROCK HILL - Mr. David Louis Rollins, 72, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011, at Providence Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul Willey officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Rollins was the son of the late J.F. Rollins and the late Mamie Elizabeth Pierce Rollins. He was retired from the Springs Frances Plant in Fort Lawn with over 20 years of service. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and enjoyed gospel music, horseshoes, ball games and golf. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Joyce Totherow Rollins. His brother, Walter Rollins, also preceded him in death.
Surviving are his brothers, Roy Rollins, Jerry Rollins (Margaret) and Bobby Rollins (Pearl), all of Rock Hill; and his sisters, Lucille Watts (Frank) and Betty Totherow, both of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 p.m. (prior to service) on Monday, May 9, 2011, and other times at the home of Tommie and Reba Watts and the home of Betty Totherow, 644 Annafrel St., Rock Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Rollins' name to Providence Baptist Church, 1947 Old Friendship Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

I will miss Uncle David. I will miss singing with him at our family reunions. He loved to sing!

I remember David well as a kid. He and Joyce were great with the kids in the neighborhood and at Northsde Mission.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

When I was growing up David and Joyce were devoted to the kids at Northside Baptist Mission. I willl never forget their kindness.

I'll always remember playing catch with Uncle David when I was a kid. And being in awe of all his trophy's he had. I'm sure he has joined my Mother in Heaven.
