Eugene F. RussoFORT MILL - Eugene F. Russo (Gene) of Fort Mill, S.C., formerly of Hanson, Mass., and Sandwich, Mass., died at his home on Jan. 12, 2014. Gene was born in Boston, Mass., and was the son of Angelo M. And Nancy E. Russo. He is survived by his wife, Mary F. (Barrett) of 49 years; his son, Edward M. and wife, Nathalie of Virginia; daughter, Leanne M. and fianc , Scott Triplett of North Carolina; his grandson, Kenneth; and his brother, Paul M. Russo and wife, Judy of Tennessee. Gene was predeceased by his brother, Richard L. Russo. Gene graduated from Boston Technical High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Design Engineering. He was also a construction supervisor holding many licenses. His career spanned 32 years with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts working with the Department of Capital Planning and Development, Public Safety, Massachusetts College of Art and Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Gene retired in 1999. A wake service will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
