Alice Pearl McGee, 64, of Shipshewana, Ind., passed away on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Ind. She was born on June 10, 1960, in Berrien County, Mich., to Jack and Pearl (Bahus) Wieand.
On Dec. 31, 1997, in Elkhart, she married Michael McGee, he survives. Survivors in addition to her husband are daughter, Rebekah Smith and her grandson, Malaki Smith; five stepchildren: Anne, Christine, Wendy, Jim and Paul; many grandchildren and others who considered her grandma; mother and stepfather: Pearl and Jim Benton; two sisters: Christine and Debra; two brothers: Charles and Jimmy.
She was preceded in death by her father and son-in-law, Walter Smith.
Alice was a graduate of Watervliet High School in Michigan.
Together, Mike and Alice shared 27 years of marriage. Alice had a fun and loving personality. She was involved in the 8 Mile Christian Camp located in Lafayette, Ind., for over 10 years. She was a devoted member of the Calvary Temple Pentecostal Church in Angola, Ind., where she volunteered her time within the children's ministry.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury, Ind. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation beginning at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Pastor Larry Williams. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.

Alice, was such a giving person and an awesome cook. She would always go that second mile and would rope Mike into assisting. She just wore herself out serving others following the example of Jesus. It will always bring a smile to my face when I think of, Alice. Prayers for you Mike, Malaki (who had grandmas favor) and family.
