Robert Sewell, 84, of Covert departed this life on Jan. 1, 2023, at home surrounded by his family.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Full Gospel Church, 154 W. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor. Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. at the Church. Those wishing to sign the online guest book may do so at www.robbinsbrothersfh.com.
Robert Sewell was born on April 28, 1938, in Marion, Ala., to Lucinda (Scott) Sewell and Gene Sewell.
Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1956. In 1972, he moved to Benton Harbor.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Annette Sewell; children: Robert Sewell Jr., (Evelyn Rufus), Addie Sewell, Patricia Layman, Cynthia (Jim Patrick), Terell Smith, and Dartica Smith; 22 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; stepchildren: Andre (Kathy) Holmes, John (Anja) Holmes, Alberta Holmes and Derrick Holmes; special grandson, Decorey Holmes; 10 step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He also leaves to cherish a special friend, Leroy Love.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucinda (Scott) Sewell, father, Gene Sewell; daughter, Addie Lee Sewell; sisters: Rose Sewell, Queen Sewell, Emma Sewell, Mammie Moore, Addie Hatcher, Mary Nell Chapman, Sarah Arrington, Dorothy Sewell; brothers: Gene Sewell, Jim Sewell, Frank Sewell, Theodore Sewell and George Sewell; son-in-law, Jim Patrick; two great-grandchildren: Tequila and Eliza Sewell.
