Cary, North Carolina - Marian Zdeb 79, of Cary North Carolina, passed away on December 4, 2024. Marian was surrounded by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in New Castle, Delaware on November 12, 1945, to Catherine and Irvin Walker she was married to John Zdeb for 57 years. Marian had a career in Education as a reading teacher for the Shenendehowa Central School District.Marian had a passion for reading, gardening, flower care, skiing, walking, backpacking, spending time with her family, and most importantly, being on the beach with her fellow "Turkey" friends.Marian grew up on a dairy farm in Delaware. She obtained a BA in education at the University of Delaware. She went on to obtain a master's degree in education at the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating she taught in Delaware, Germany, Pennsylvania, and New York where she taught at Shenendehowa Central School District for over 30 years before retiring. Marian loved to travel with her husband. They have backpacked through the Rockies and the Adirondack mountains over the years.They also have traveled all over the world to destinations including most of Western Europe in addition to Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Alaska, Hawaii, and many other locations.She was preceded in death by her parents Catherine and Irvin Walker. She is survived by her husband John Zdeb, son Christopher Zdeb, daughter Jessica Zdeb, grandchildren Mikayla Zdeb and Kyliee Zdeb. She is also survived by several brother in law's, sister in law's and their families as well and many friends.In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association and/or Hospice organizations.
