Rev. Clayton W. Shetler

The Rev. Clayton W. Shet-ler, 96, Hermitage, Tenn., and formerly of Sarasota., died Nov. 23, 2005. He was born July 19, 1909, in Johnstown, Pa., and lived 20 years in Sarasota where he was a founding member of the Bethel/Mennonite Church and served as an elder and on various boards. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Mount Juliet, Tenn. He had been pastor of Seanor, Pa., Mennonite Church and had also worked in the maintenance department of the Church of the Brethren Nursing Home, Windber, Pa. Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Grace (Shaffer); children Dean R. of Sacramento, Calif., Lois Mock of Crestview and Joseph of Old Hickory, Tenn.; a sister, Ruth of Johnstown; and a brother, Dwight of Bedford, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Services and burial will be in Davidsville, Pa. Joseph G. Hoffman Funeral Home, Boswell, Pa., is in charge.
