Doris Warren Obituary

Doris I. Warren, 71, Sarasota, died Sept. 18, 2002. She was born Feb. 28, 1931, in New York City and came to Sarasota six years ago from Waterbury, Conn. She retired in 1994 as a college English professor. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Hunter College, New York City, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Hadassah and Temple Beth Sholom, Sarasota. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Dr. Philip; a daughter, Dr. Sondra Levin of Olney, Md.; a son, Dr. Steven of St. Petersburg; and four grandchildren. The family will observe Shiva following the graveside service until sundown. The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Temple Beth Sholom. Burial will be in Temple Beth Sholom Cemetery. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Temple Beth Sholom, 1050 S. Tuttle Ave., Sarasota, FL 34237; or to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 21475, St. Petersburg, FL 33742.
