William VanBlarcom Obituary

William J. VanBlarcom, 79, Port Charlotte, died Dec. 9, 2002, at home. He was born April 30, 1923, in Franklin, N.J., and came to Port Charlotte in 1982. He retired in 1982 from the design and research photo lab of Johns-Manville Corp. and had worked in the Finderne, N.J., and Denver plants. He was a Marine veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of the Volunteer Rescue Squad in Plainfield, N.J., for 11 years. Survivors include his wife, Dolores M. (Kugler); a daughter, Susan (Zardus) Newcomb; a brother, Phillip of Somerville, N.J.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be later. Speer VanArsdale Funeral Home, Somerville, N.J., is in charge.
