Dr.Doreen Ganos was one of my favorite doctors for many years, when I was having problems with my hands. Dr. Ganos performed numerous surgeries on my hands, for carpal tunnel and trigger finger issues, for which I received great care and expertise from Dr. Ganos. To this day, I have not had any subsequent problems with my hands. Dr. Ganos was a skilled, caring, and kind professional, and I am sorry to learn that she is no longer with us. I was looking for her, to see if she was still practicing, because I was going to refer a friend to her. Even after 20-30 years, Dr. Ganos’ work and quality of care is still remembered. R.I.P.

My heartfelt condolences to the Ganos family and to her team at Henry Ford Hospital.
When I came upon this sad news a moment ago while doing a google search for the office number to make an appointment to see my wonderful Dr. Ganos (whom I last saw in 2016 for the follow-up visit after she performed my skin cancer surgery) I really was hoping that the photo that would be revealed would not be of the same caring surgeon who together with her team made me feel as though I was their only patient from the day I met her. I am quite saddened by this news.
A rare gem is now gone from Henry Ford Hospital.
May God bless your soul Dr. Doreen Ganos.

Awwwwee. Im sooooo sad to be reading this. Dr Ganos did 7 surgeries on my hands & was very successful! Wow. Alot of people will be missing out on a GREAT SURGEON!! Also I would see her out shopping and she talked to me like I was her friend! I guess shes up with THE LORD Now......

Dr Ganos was truly a wonderful woman. When I needed surgery on my finger I was extremely nervous, but she calmed my nerves (at every step of the process) and assured me she would take very good care of me, and she did.

I just heard today of Dr. Ganos transition. I am very sadden by the news. She treated everyone with dignity and respect. She was a great teacher in the operating room. Our lockers were close to each others, we would talk about music (she had 1 of the the best playlist) and cars ( her love for cars). May she Rest In Heaven.

I was just thinking about Doreen, whom I haven't seen since she was in Medical School, and was so stunned and sad to see her obit. We worked closely together on a student lead the University of Michigan's Committee on Ethics, Humanism, and Medicine, and recall how truly honest and caring she was to everyone. This was a person of very high moral integrity and strength, and sorry our paths had not crossed much sooner. This world has been improved by her touch.

I'm so sad to hear about the passing of Dr. Ganos. She saved my life when I meet her last year in May. She performed 7 surgeries on me to remove infection I got in another country. Every time I seen her I got emotional. I owed her my life. Dr. Ganos was a fantastic doctor and in my case never missed a beat. She always made me feel special and due to my rare case whenever I needed to come In She made sure I got in ASAP. I know she loved her family and especially her dogs. I still remember the day she was unsettled because one of her dogs had ate a wire. I reassured her they would be fine.
I'm so truly blessed to have meet Dr. Ganos and know that god put her in my life for a reason. I'd like to send the family prayers of comfort and healing at this sad time.
Dr Ganos will be truly missed ❤

So sad to hear of Dr. Ganos passing. I had the privilege to work in the same office with her for over 12 years. She was loved by both her colleagues and patients. I will always remember having many conversations with her about her love of cars. Dr. Ganos was also on my sister in laws breast cancer surgical team just a month ago. My heart goes out to all her family and friends she will truly be missed.

My condolences to Dr. Ganos' family, including her Henry Ford family. I have been a long-time patient of Dr. Ganos and she was the most caring, loving, kindhearted person that I had the pleasure of knowing. Unfortunately, I did not find out of her passing until today when I called to schedule an appointment to meet with her as to my third surgery with her. She was the only plastic surgeon that I truly trusted my care with and she will be missed terribly.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Dr. Ganos. I just found out today of your great loss. Unfortunately, it is a day too late for visitation or attending the memorial service. I worked with Dr. Ganos at HfHS for many years. She definitely was kindhearted and generous. I have my Barry White CD that she gave me some years ago and I was listening to it just the other day. I feel her presence when I hear this CD. She will always be near and dear to my heart. May she rest in peace. She has joined Barry White and some of her favorite entertainers in the Heavenly Kingdom.

I worked at Woodhaven clinic ,where she also worked at. She had such a passion for her patients, like no physician I've ever seen other than one other Surgeon of HFHS that cared for my mother. Dr. Ganos did surgery on both hands of my father. She was phenomenal as a surgeon and made every patient feel so important to her. My dad thought the world of her. Rest in peace with the angels Dr. Ganos. They have another beautiful angel now..

Dr. Doreen Ganos will be missed by the entire Breast Oncology Program at the Henry Ford Health System/Henry Ford Cancer Institute. She was an incredibly talented plastic surgeon and her kindness, sincerity as well as terrific sense of humor helped a great many patients prevail as they endured some of the most challenging of life experiences. She was also an incredible teacher, role model, friend and colleague. We enjoyed her sharp wit and always-meaningful insights during meetings and conferences. Doreen has been my friend for over 30 years, since we first met as fellow members of a local Star Trek club (she, of course, was the Medical Officer).
As soon as we met, I knew she was a good person & that we would be friends for life.
We shared a love of movies and Star Trek. She supported me when I was a student in Nursing School, & celebrated with me when I graduated in 1987. And through the years, we never lost touch.
I will always be grateful to have had Doreen friendship in my life.

Duane and I are so saddened by the loss of Doreen. You were our next neigbors at our cottage in Belle River Canada since about 1956 until four years ago. Doreen was so friendly to everyone. Several members of our family were paitents of her's. We will truly miss her.

Last year, I was a less than an ideal patient, but Dr. Doreen Ganos was incredibly accommodating, kind and understanding. She was calm, optimistic and caring when I was frustrated and confused. She was super responsive - she always texted, called or got me in for an appointment when things were not going well. My follow-up appointment was scheduled for the day she will now be laid to rest.
Dr. Ganos was truly a gifted surgeon and a gift to her patients. I am so grateful she was a part of my team. She will be missed by friends, family and the legions of patients whose lives and bodies she healed.

I happened along this obituary by accident or fate. I was a patient of Doreens at one time and over the last week thought of her several times and about how she was the only doctor to pay attention to the fact that I lost 50% strength in my right arm.Out of all my previous doctors she was the only one to care enough to test that out for me.
