Billy "Bill" Joe Hefner, 97, of Hickory passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Brookdale Falling Creek,
He was born on May 21, 1928 to the late James Harland Hefner and Jessie Lee Hollar Hefner in Catawba County. Bill was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carolyn Hefner, 7 siblings, and son-in-law, Paul Hacker.
Survivors include his son, Randy Hefner and wife Julie of Hickor; daughter, Linda Hacker of Vale; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sisters, Peggy Hefner, Jackie Benfield, and Carolyn Thornburg.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Building Fund, 1911 Zion Church Road, Hickory, NC 28602.
