It is so hard to believe 11years have past without you and 17 without mom. I feel and talk to you both daily and dream of mom almost nightly. It makes me feel good to know you are still both here watching over me. Things just arent the same. Many days are so difficult but I know we will all be together one day. I love you all more each day and miss you so very much.

Danny Dixon was both Police Chief and friend to my family, since the 1970's. He has been deeply missed since his untimely passing but his legacy lives on in family, friends, the Fayetteville Police Department and the City of Fayetteville.

Coincidently, the Chief and the Mayor left us on the same day. Danny was the Chief for almost all of my mother's tenure as Mayor. My mother had great affection for Danny. She admired the professionalism, and in particular, the enthusiasm he brought to the Chief's office. By the same token I always thought Danny was very protective of the diminutive Mayor. In an almost psychic fashion, one of the best photos I chose for the DVD prepared for the visitation was a photo of Governor Jim Hunt, the Mayor, and the Chief.
Both the Chief and the Mayor left a legacy. Both will be missed. Both respective families can be proud as they mourn their loss.
