Edwin "Ed" Lawrence Lawing passed away Sunday, May 7th, 2023 at Carolina Caring after a period of declining health.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen. His four children; Laura Tribble (Dallas), Brandy Lewis (Joseph), Eddie Lawing, Jr. and Nechole Lawing (Cory). In addition to his children, Ed was blessed to have 19 grandchildren: Justin Turner (Chelsea), Addison Turner (Keagan), Gracie Adams, Kameron Lewis (Chloe), Noah Lawing, Hannah Lawing (Kendel), Luke Lawing, Laura-Ashleigh Lawing, Quintin Lewis, Ezekiel Lewis, Maliyah Lawing, Talan Lawing, Grayson Lawing, Kamiah Lawing, Paigelynn Lawing, Charleigh Lawing, McKenna Forney, Cortlynn Forney & Ikeese Brock. He also has one great grandson Jaxson Turner. Brother Frank & wife Kathy and numerous relatives and close friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Loyd & Mary Graves Lawing.
Ed was the proud owner and operator of Lawing's Heating & Air. He cherished the many customers who became friends, serving the Burke, Caldwell and Catawba county area for many years. He was known for his kindness, generosity and as an avid pet lover. He will be missed by so many.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 12th at 12 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese with David Hartman officiating.
The Family will receive friends from 11 to 12 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Service.

Mr. Lawing was always a joy to take care of when he came into the office. As his coordinator I loved talking with him and hearing all of his stories about life. My favorite was him and Karen love story! He will definitely be missed at CBOI! My condolences to the family and everyone who came in contact with him.

To all of Eddie's children and grandchildren, and to Frank ( he will always be "Eddie" to me), I am so sorry about losing such a sweet father and grandfather. I am Eddie's first cousin on his father's side. I wish you all could have enjoyed our family gatherings. We always celebrated Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas together at Aunt Polly's house in Tryon. I was the baby, and Eddie was next oldest to me, so we usually just sat and watched all the older ones and we were actually glad to sit at the kids' table. Those are the memories that I will cherish forever!
I hope you can all find comfort in knowing that Eddie will always hold a special place in my heart.

So heartbreaking to hear of Ed´s passing He is pain free walking the Streets of Gold Ed was such a kind hearted person who helped so many!! Before my husband passed Ed kept us cool several summers and would take no pay Love and Prayers for all his precious family

Thinking about all of you. My heart is full of love and healing for each one of you. Though I didn't know Ed personally I can see his spirit in Laura and how ahe loves and deals with others My heart aches for you all. Ed was one of the greatest MEN and greatest FATHER I´ve know and he was really a living angel and blessed me in many was that nobody could ever imagine and for that his always had a special place in my heart and will be missed by many faces
