Eric Byrd Obituary
July 12, 1961 - July 23, 2022
On Saturday, July 23, 2022, Eric Dylan Byrd, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 61.
He was born July 12, 1961, to Willie Ed Byrd and Eleanor Brown Byrd.
Eric graduated from Hickory High School's Class of '79. He served in the U.S. Army. He received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Lenoir-Rhyne University. Eric went on to receive a master's in chemistry from Western Carolina University a short time later. He was employed for several years at Eli Lilly & Company in Indianapolis, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Ed Byrd; and his sister, Dietdra Monique Wilson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annie Byrd; his daughter, Amber Byrd; his mother, Eleanor Byrd; his nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service will be held Saturday July 30, at Woodlawn Memorial Garden at 2 p.m., officiated by Dr. Scott Frady. The family will receive family and friends at the Celebration Center at Jenkins Funeral Home, 4081 Startown Rd. in Newton, Friday, July 29, from 6 to 8 p.m.

My heart and prayers are with you Annie and your family I can't say I know how it feels because I don't but I do know he will always be by your side I remember when I use to be with you and I remember when he use to come and pick you up and take you places with him you always had that Beautiful smile on your face so keep on smiling because he loves you and always have I know it's going to be hard but just put it in God's hands and he will see you through you a strong woman give my love to your daughter I love you and will never forget you
