Glenn Avery Crouch, 91, of Claremont, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Catawba Valley Living in Claremont. Born May 8, 1932 in Catawba County, he was the son of Hugh and Hattie Smith Crouch.
Glenn was a faithful follower of Our Lord. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend.
He worked for Overnight Transportation for 50 years. Even after he retired he continued to drive part-time and helped with a family business. He was a gardener and loved to fish. Glenn was always willing to go the extra mile for family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Faye Crouch of 68 years, a son Alan Crouch, a great grandson Garrett Toney.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Brenda Deal (Norman) of Tenn.; his sons, Robert Crouch (Darbie) of Claremont and Roger Crouch of Claremont; his grandchildren, Chad Deal of Mo., Jonathan Deal (Jamie) of S.C., Tabitha Toney (Jonathan) of Newton, Dillon Crouch (Kelsi) of Newton, Darby Crouch (Amber) of Claremont, and Averi O'Brien (Anthony) of Claremont; his great-grandchildren Austin Deal, Charlie Deal, Gracie Deal, Justin Toney, Caroline Toney, Isaac Crouch, Rowan Crouch, Tucker Crouch, and Lorelai O'Brien; his brothers Dan Crouch and Jim Crouch; and his sisters Ruth Mayberry and Lula Poteat.
Receiving will be on Monday, May 29th, 2023 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church located at 1942 St James Church Rd, Newton, NC 28658. The funeral service will start at 1 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
Glenn's family would like to thank the wonderful staff (Family) at Catawba Valley Living for the blessing of such tender loving care of him and Faye for their years there. And the wonderful care he received from Carolina Caring in his final weeks.
