James David Stock

James "Jim" David Stock, 92, of Hickory passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024 at his residence.

Born July 11, 1931 in Renovo, PA, he was the son of the late Paul J. Stock and Maribel Leighow Stock. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Gail Allsup Stock; his second wife, Rosemary Brancaleone Stock; his son, Tom Stock; and two siblings, Paul Stock and Patricia Stock Tullis.

Jim was a proud United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in engineering. He went on to a career with General Electric until his retirement. Jim was a Boy Scout Leader and father to three Eagle Scouts. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Jim loved spending time with his wife and family, especially during celebrations at the lake house. He loved pets, nature, reading, Kentucky basketball, and special times with Rosemarie on the beach.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie Cusa Stock; five children, Jeanne Stock Gerhardt (David), Mary Stock Parker (Bert), Joanne Stock Blough (Dave), Joseph Stock (Lauren), and John Stock (Angela); Tom's wife, Kelly Stock; a sister, Martha Stock Lynch; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Lawrence M. LoMonaco officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:50 a.m. prior to services.
