Kevin Wayne Queen

October 15, 1982 - October 20, 2024

Kevin Wayne Queen, 42 , of Hickory, NC went to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at his residence after a brief illness.

Kevin was born October 15, 1982 in Catawba County to Dennis Wayne Queen and Sara Mackie Queen of Newton. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Henry and Thelma Queen and maternal grandparents Henry and Elizabeth Mackie. Kevin was a member of Christ Church in Hickory and employed with Verizon for over 20 years and was currently a Senior Analyst with Verizon. Kevin and the love of his life Lyndsey were married in January, 2006. They have two of the most amazing daughters Alejah and Alivia Queen both of the residence.

Kevin was raised by very Christian parents and he continued to share the Lord and raise his family with Christian beliefs. Kevin loved to support his daughters in every way academically and on the ball fields. Whether it be to watch his Alejah cheer on the sidelines or watch Alivia play softball. Kevin was a coach for many of their teams whether it be in the dugout or behind home plate. He loved his family and loved spending every moment with his wife Lyndsey and their daughters. Kevin and Lyndsey traveled everywhere together and did everything together….where you saw one you saw the other. Kevin enjoyed yard work and gardening and being outside. Kevin and Lyndsey along with his little 8 pound sidekick Izzy enjoyed sitting outside together and watching nature, especially the birds he loved feeding. Kevin was an honor graduate of Fred T. Foard High School and honor graduate of Catawba Valley Community College and obtained other high academic achievements through Verizon wireless.

Kevin was blessed with a brother Robert Queen and his wife Meredith, niece Paityn and nephew Gavin, Sister Kelli Queen Parker, niece Madisyn and nephews Bryson and Colesyn, Sister-in-law Heather Greer and her husband Shane and nephews Michael and Tyler, Father and mother in law Mike and Myra Marshall. Along with a multitude of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and dear friends.

Kevin, you left a legacy that will live on forever and you will be missed by all who loved and knew you. Your smile and laughter was infectious and lit up every room. We all will cherish the sweet and precious moments and memories we had with you. Your love will live on, and we will do our best to make you proud. Go Bears and Go Wolfpack!

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fellowship of Christian Athletes re: Softball Ministry in memory of Kevin Queen.

A celebration of Kevin's life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 3 p.m., at Christ Church Mountain View, 2416 Zion Church Road Hickory, North Carolina. The Doctor Charles Kyker will officiate. The family will receive family and friends prior to the service at 2 p.m., A private burial will be held following the service.

Praying for your family, I had not seen Kevin for a long while, and it is a shame. He was a great friend in the time that I knew him and one of the co-workers that I genuinely enjoyed spending time around. He stood out to me as a young man with strong morals and a desire to provide for his family. May you find comfort in the love of Christ during this time of loss.
