Roy Myers Obituary

Roy Jay Myers, 66, of Palm Bay, FL died at his home on June 03, 2023.
Roy was born on November 7, 1956, in Garden City, New York. After Roy's father died, the family moved
to Palm Bay, Fl in 1967. Roy grew up on the east coast of Florida collecting shells with his mother and
older brother. He had a love of surfing, snorkeling, and spearfishing in the Atlantic Ocean. Roy graduated
from Melbourne High in 1975 and received an AS degree in electronics in 1977. After graduating from
college, he went to work with a subcontractor of the US Navy, working in electronics on top secret
submarines.
His love for the ocean brought him back to Florida where he became a legend in the spearfishing and
lobstering community, he also taught scuba diving as a PADI instructor. Roy dabbled in real estate, car
sales, and clamming. For a short stint in the 1990s, Roy became a certified commercial deep diver in the
oil fields off the coast of Louisiana. After being severely injured several times in the oil field, he had
enough and returned to Florida, the state he loved, to pursue his passion; commercial spearfishing.
Roy J. Myers was preceded in death by his father, Earle F. Myers. Sr. and mother, Louise W. Myers. He is
survived by his loving family: Mickey Myers (his older brother), Josh Hudak (oldest son), Justin Watts
(son), and Jay Myers (son). He is also survived by his brother's children whom he loved; Jered Myers
(nephew), Jason Myers (nephew), and Jamie Myers (niece), nine great nieces and nephews, and two
great, great-grandsons.
His Memorial Service will be held at Sebastian Inlet Northside Cove on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 10 am
(weather permitting). Please contact Josh at 321-914-9808 for more information.

Cherished and embedded deep in my heart, are the greatest adventures my children and I had the privilege of experiencing, with and because of you, Uncle Roy.
We love you and miss you.
