Leslie Walker Obituary
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carley Bascle Walker; children, Gwendolyn Abben and husband, Dr. Richard Abben, Leslie "Buddy" Walker Jr., Dr. Jerome Walker and wife, Donna, Dr. Mark Walker and wife, Margaret, Robin Whitney, and Lori Walker and fiance, Jason Savoie; grandchildren, Katherine and Lesley Abben, Quentin, Morgan and Philip Walker, Lindsay Walker, Jordan and Kristen Walker, and Kyle and Ross Whitney; sisters, Mary Ellen Dugas, Carolyn Mabile, Martha Butler and Linda Russell; and brothers, Dr. Herman Walker, Stephen Walker, Harold Walker and Dr. Craig Walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Ernest Walker and Mary Ellen Ellender Walker.
Dr. Leslie was a dedicated physician who served the people of this community with compassion and respect for more than 33 years.
He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the St. Ann Building Fund, 4355 Hwy. 24, Bourg, La. 70343.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Surely Carley and family know our feelings toward such a wonderful man leaving us. We are still awe struck with the loss. Deepest sympathy to children, brothers, sisters-and-brothers-in-law, and all of family. Dr. Leslie was mine, daughter's and family's doctor for many years and his dedication to hard work and old fashioned "doctoring" will always be remembered. It is with heavy heart that I send sympathy to the Walker family. The world lost a caring doctor when he retired.Dr. Leslie was a Doctor you could count on in your time of need and he was prone to speaking his mind but one and all loved him dearly. He was the kind of doctor/man that all those following in his foot steps should be happy to take lessons from.
